| It all started in 1946 when our president's father, King "Joe" Gillam,
started ABC Awning and Venetian Blind Corp. In 1972, with his father's
health declining, Ken, a 1961 graduate of Georgia
Tech., moved back to Charleston
to help his father run the business. In the beginning, ABC only manufactured
Venetian blinds. These original blinds can still be found today, throughout
the Charleston area. Over the years, like so many other businesses, ABC
expanded into other related home improvement products. One can now find
a variety of products at ABC for the new homeowner, the do it yourself
person, or replacements for existing home items. ABC installs and services
all the products that they sell. ABC enjoys a large repeat business, due
to their service, and quality products, which they retail at a fair price.
